TM44 Air Conditioning Inspections
It is important that we remind our customers of the regulatory requirements for businesses with air conditioning equipment installed on their premises.
This guidance is intended to help anyone who manages or controls an air conditioning system to understand why and when air conditioning inspections are required.
It has been compulsory for several years, that a business using air conditioning with a rated output greater than 12kW, is inspected by an accredited energy assessor every 5 years after installation.
What does this mean to me?
A simple guide to TM44 Air Conditioning Inspection Reports can be found on the GOV.UK website here including an explanation of how, why and when inspections should be carried out.
A TM44 Inspection Report is due every 5 years meaning, that if your equipment was installed in 2015, your first inspection is due in 2020.
We know from industry feedback, that Trading Standards have been actively carrying out enforcement on non-compliant businesses, which fail to have their TM44 Reports completed.
Therefore, if you have not organised and completed a TM44 Inspection on your premises in the last 5 years, you may wish to consider taking action.
What should I do?
Spheretech can arrange a quote from an accredited energy assessor to carry out an inspection and provide you with your TM44 Air Conditioning Inspection Report.
